Introduction

On this page you will find:

  1. The latest tax tables for Scotland which are used as the default tax year for Scotland tax calculations in our apps.

The tax tables are split into two seperate categories, these are Personal Income Tax Tables (PIT) and Corporate Income Tax Tables (CIT).

Scotland Personal Income Tax (PIT)

PIT includes the tax rates and thresholds that are applied when calculating taxes targeted at individuals, for example, income tax is a tax applied against individuals and therefore categorised as PIT.

Scotland Corporate Income Tax (CIT)

CIT includes the tax rates and thresholds that are applied when calculating taxes targeted at businesses, for example, corporation tax is a tax applied against businesses and therefore categorised as CIT.

In 2023, the UK Government changed the approach to Corporation tax calculations. Previously, a flat rate had been applied on company profits. The new system uses a threshold system based on the amount of company profits within the accounting year, similar to the UK income tax system. In addition, a marginal rate of relief is available for companies whose profits fall between the small profits rate and the main rate of corporation tax.
